The grab-the-right-notebook system is externalized working memory wearing an awesome cover. Each book is a context your brain doesn't have to hold open. From a fellow notebook-hoarder, I don't see it as excess. It's scaffolding! The single catch-all fails because it asks one container to be every context at once. Does a notebook ever "die" for you the moment its job is done, even if there are pages still left?

I also used to think that using more than one notebook at a time was ridiculous but I now have 6 of them on the go π loved this post and seeing your journal ecosystem!
